The Argentine artist Tamara Djurovic, who worked under the name Hyuro, died on Thursday in her home in Valencia. Known for being sincere in her work, the artist used her large format pieces to capture the complexities of human emotions. Her style was straightforward and subdued, and her process was shaped by her worries and questions about the world, a process she had discussed at length before at Colossal.

During her lifetime, Djurovic made significant strides in the international mural community, which is largely male dominated. She has completed projects across Europe, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, the United States, Morocco and Tunisia, many of which can be seen on her website and on Instagram.
